Default Greetings from Maine!

Hello everyone! Bought a rust-free '91 this summer complete with a hardtop for $1200. It has 200k but is in excellent shape. My wife and I bombed around in it all summer and just parked it. Getting cold up here in Maine! This will be a project for my Dad and I. He's 70 and has always wanted a Cobra so I thought this would be a fun project for us. We did a v-8 S-10 when I was in my 20's (I'm 43 now). Just bought an '86 Mustang GT 5-spd today with a complete drivetrain for $700 and I have the rolling chassis sold for $500 once I yank all the stuff I need. Really excited about how inexpensive everything has been so far. This will let me do some really great mods and stay under my $10k budget. Looking forward to spending time on here and learning from you all...

Holy cow at that rate you could build 2 of them for 10K! Sounds like a great project and what a blessing for both of you to do it with your dad. I'd give my left one for that!

Welcome to the forum it's really great to have you and hear your story. It would be handy to update your sig with your name and what your car and build is. That way we always know what car you are talking about and don't call you Driven71 when we say thank you Chad for a great first post!

Glad you joined us here. Please post up a build thread from the great state of Maine when you can.
...My best Miata deal was a rust-free NA here in NC with connecting rod #3 poking out of the block (with the hardtop) for $1000. Not nearly as good a deal as yours!
