Default Greetings from Kentucky

How's it going, folks? I've been into Miatas for a couple of years now, and I'm finally stepping up to a V8 swap. I'm relatively inexperienced when it comes to this sort of task, so I hope to learn a lot by hanging around here and asking questions.

I've currently got a '93 NA that's waaaaaay too low and my daily, but she's thrown a rod. So while searching for a replacement engine, I came across a '92 donor. An absolute STEAL at $300. I could get that money back for the wheels alone. Since she's gonna be sitting around with an empty engine bay, what better way to reward her than with a V8?

Welcome to the nut house you are in the for the time of your life with this swap! I'm really glad you are here and sounds like you have a great start already.

Speaking of great places to start do you have any plans for April 24-26 yet? You are way to close to have an excuse not to come down to Atlanta with us! Check it out: https://www.v8miata.net/annual-membe...893/#post10698

Also check out the build threads section there are several 5.0s in progress now and an excellent video build thread on a Ford swap you will enjoy.

I can't offer much in Ford world but I'm looking forward to seeing you swap come together and hearing your story. Welcome!

Welcome and good luck with your project. Let me know if I can help with a harness, driveshaft or AC hoses.

Oh, how I wish I could afford the LS swap. Thankfully I care more about the Miata itself than the maker of the engine going in, so it's more about price than Ford vs Chevy.

Oh, and I'm not sure how you folks feel about other Japmobiles, but I've also got an AE86 Corolla project in the works, and a good lead on an unmolested 240SX for dirt cheap.

Still searching for a good 240/260/280Z for the right price, as well as a Cressida. I seem to be having pretty good luck so far with killer deals on my dream projects, so let's hope it stays that way.

And just for fun...
PHOTO TIME!!!

My favorite shot of my '93 NA. This one won't be receiving a swap, since it's my daily driver. He also seems to have a staring problem.

The sweet '92 I recently picked up for $300. This one's the lucky gal. Helps that there are enough extra parts I won't be using to probably make a profit on this.

Last, but not least, here's the AE86 I practically stole for $600. Only one bad rust spot, and that's on the hatch, meaning I can just replace the whole thing.

Reminds me of my idea to cover the inside of the hardtop with glossy print-outs of risque photos sent from various ladies...

...mainly because I wanna see reactions when a few of them recognize theirs.

+1...but the car is likely older than her. ...and so is my son. Makes feel old and creepy. ...but I'll get over it.

Nice cars!
