Does any one out there have a list of the proper TFI ignition module for each engine/car application? I have a list that was posted several years ago but it seems incomplete. What I am looking for is a list of "push start" gray modules that will work with a 1990 manual transmission 5.0 liter Monster Miata. There seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation surrounding these modules. Auto trans vs manual etc. When I attempt to follow the trail of aftermarket modules I end up with a dead end or modules that from one supplier claim to be for a manual transmission car while the crossed over number from a different manufacturer claims it's for an automatic. Ford hasn't helped either with their changing of part numbers over the years. Is a DY425 correct for my application? How about a E3EF-12A297-A2A, or a E68F-12A297-A1A? Why have numbers been superseded over the years?

Do yourself a favor and only use a Motorcraft TFI module. Rock Auto has what you need. There are less expensive ones out there, but you get what you pay for. Be sure to replace the STATOR while you are at it.

Brad - Check out Rockauto.com, select the year,model of the Engine combination you have and Rockauto will list the right TFI module and stator. I would only buy Motorcraft as TBone said for this part. The OEM numbers change as they may be superseded with a newer design, update the part slightly mid model run or it may be renumbered because it fits multiple models. Rockauto will list all the OEM numbers too...so you can actually build that list of all the TFI modules for all cars that interest you from their website.
