Wiring for Martins fans to turn correct dirrection
Does anyone know how to get the fans wired to turn the correct direction? I am assuming they will turn different ways depending on how you hook them up? Martins fans that I have, have yellow and black wires. My 95 Miata has yellow and black on the drivers side and black with yellow strip & black on the pass side. Do I just keep yellow with yellow and block with black? My fans are mounted on the front side like martins instructions say to do.
Or does anyone know of a way to get the fans to run as if the car is hot? A jumper or something. I still have the Miata diagnostics box on the drivers fender right now.

Great idea! I think I have even done that once to test a bad fan. I am making this to hard. The cooling fan relay is in the underhood fusebox on the pass side right? the A/C fan relay is right behind the pass side headlight? on a '95. So if I just turn on the ignition and jumper these relays the fan should turn?

I just went thru the entire AC wiring diagram while installing my AC. There are 2 relays next to each other on a bracket right behind passenger headlight. If you are using stock temp sensor wiring, cooling fan relay is activated by a ground signal to power fan. AC relay is activated by the push bottom on the AC controls thru the high pressure switch on the AC high side line. Also a ground signal.
Test your fans by grounding one wire and then 12v to the other. See if that is the flow you want. If not, reverse wires. Once figured out, label them
I was able to reuse both relays in my LS build with AC.

^ This and just to be clear that is for the AC fan and for LS guys most use it for the high speed fan from the ecu too. The low speed or engine cooling fan wires come from the drivers side and the relay is I forget where...
You have these links from the builder resources page right?

If you are using the stock Miata fan power like it was originally and connect one fan to each of the separate Miata fan connections, you will only have one fan running during normal driving. Only when you turn on the A/C will the other fan run (at least on my 1991 that is).
You may not have enough fan cooling with just one fan running.
On my 1991, the main fan connection is on the passenger side and the A/C fan connection is on the driver side (strange as the A/C relay is behind the headlight on the passenger side and the fan power leads go all the way back into the cabin, across the firewall, then back out to the engine compartment and forward to the connector!).

How do you get both fans to come on when the cooling needs to happen? I assume the cooling fan circuit can not power both fans. Relay? Does some one have a write up on that subject?

After countless stories of cooling issues in these cars I'd wire them both to fire anytime cooling or AC calls for a fan to run. The factory Miata circuits can handle the load just fine and all you need to do is jumper the cooling relay to the AC fan relay on the control side of the relay so no matter which one is fired the other will fire to. Mazda made it easy for us to do that with the way they did the AC control circuit so it won't back feed and turn on the compressor by firing the AC fan relay from another source.

Cooling and A/C Fan wiring using stand alone controller and adding a relay
Skip to my last attachment. This one does not work

There are many different ways to skin the cat. I used the Ford CCRM relays to control the Ford ac compressor, fans, and Miata fuel pump. I have 2 puller fans (Ford Contour) that operate like the factory setup. Fully integrated with the ac. Trickiest part was a reversing-polarity relay for the Miata's dash ac pushbutton. As a backup for cooling, it was a simple matter to run a toggle to activate the high speed relay to turn on the fans on on demand just in case there's a need (and to see how much air they move on high speed--which doesn't get triggered very much).
