The fender and bumper cover is easy how did you clear the support behind the headlight back to the firewall with out raising the car a couple inches?
I'm not picturing what you did in the back but would love to understand. Can you post up photos of what you are talking about please?

Something that I keep forgetting is that when you guys discuss dimension/clearance everything is related to where similar "kits" position the front K-frame & rear diff frame. My frames were laid out in conjunction w/ the planned body work & around the 27" clearance. So, the actual CL of my wheels are most likely a little different than what is available in a kit.
I will happily send you pics & measurements for your personal use, but my inner frame is not as close as yours.

From what can be seen in that pic, you will need a combo of wheel spacers & a raised suspension in order to fit larger/wider tires on the front. This could also mean longer wheel studs. 255/50/16 is the largest front tire ever used on the Munster.
For 295's on the rear you may need wheel spacers + the cutting. Depends on wheel offset. Ours runs 275/265 depending on tire availability & price @ the time.
16's @ 275 are the limit for me. Any more gets pricey in a hurry. Somewhere in a thread I read about a tire that costs $900+ each. I'm just not willing to spend that much for tires.

Been thinking about this I'm wondering how do you over come the ride height?
On mine when I was on 23" tires the car was too low and I hit stuff all the time. So going to 25" tires gave me another 1" of clearance though I did end up lowering it just a bit from there because I could not stand the look of it so high. But with that lowering my suspension is about maxed out in how low it can go and still have reasonable travel for the street. With 27" tall tires it would raise the car another inch and I could not lower it enough to maintain the height it is now.
So what's your thoughts on ride height?

Changing ride height changes suspension set up. It will alter things like camber/caster arc, bump steer, toe steer, roll center, roll couple, etc. You can usually get away with about 1" on a stock'ish suspension. After that, you have to start doing the math to see what you get.

Just use shorter springs with the same spring rate so you can lower the car to where you want it; a$$uming there is wheel well clearance.
I should also clear up my 27" tire comment. 27" was a target dimension used for design purposes. As you can see, we ended up using tires less than 26.5" in diameter.

Here is a word to the wise for anyone who reads this thread without being logged in as a forum member. In post #5, Jim concludes with the statement:
If you click on the highlighted link for "RS3s" in Jim's post, it takes you to an ad for Cooper Zeon tires. I'm pretty sure he was actually referring to Hankook RS3 tires.
When I log in as a forum member I don't see that "RS3s" advertising link; if I don't log in, I do. Perhaps a good reason to join the forum if you haven't already!

My wheels are 17x10 +25 and I am running a 5mm shim in the back just because I had them laying around.
Room to the spring is plenty but I don't know how much there is. The spring is not the interference issue the sway bar and fire wall is at full turn. This is a shot of the drivers side at full left turn.

I was going to order up some RS3's but saw that the new Rival S is now available. Anyone have any first or second hand reviews of them? Been looking online but havnt been able to find any word yet...

I've been running the Rival S on a nationally competitive MR2 Spyder in STR for a few events. The new Rival S is VERY sticky..in fact, there's no doubt in my mind that they are stickier than the RA-1's I've been running for years. Don't let the 200TW rating fool ya
This past weekend at the NJ Pro, I heard of a couple other competitors that started out on the RS3's and had to swap to either Rival S or RE71R's to keep up with the pack. Unfortunately, the RE71R isn't available in a 225/15, so the Rival S was our only choice on the Spyder.

On a car that has decent camber they seem to be wearing normally. I'd say you could probably squeeze a full autocross season out of a set.
On camber limited, front heavy pigs like my buddy's DS WRX, the fronts were down to the wear bars in 15 runs....

Necro posting.... but seems to fit my question without starting a new thread. Please excuse my newbie-ness
I am acquiring a 92 sitting on bc coil overs, running 16x9 BBS wheels with a +15 offset. Fenders are rolled already.
It is in need of new tires desperately, the car wont be in my possession for another month or so. I want to go wide as possible...and with out having the car in front of me I am having a hard time figuring out what will fit using the calculators and visual reference of the car.
Will a 245/45R16 have enough clearance in the front ? I don't mind trimming the fenders and rockers in the rear if need be... Also, without power steering how difficult will it be to turn those at slow speeds like in a parking lot ? I want the wife to be able to drive this thing.
Thanks in advance,
Devlin

I have a wide body kit From Martin at Monster. I'd like to get a set of 6UL wheels that will work. But, I'm not sure whether to go with 15", or 17" wheels. My car is a 90 NA.
Can anyone give me approximate sizes that will fit under my car? was thinking 245/40/15 on front, and 245/40 15 on rear, with a 15X9 wheels.
Not sure a 17X9 will work front and rear. And whether 225/40/17 front, and 245/40/17 on rear?
Love to get the bigger tires and wheels on the car, as the stock 14" wheels don't get much traction these days.
