Default Noob here

Hey guys, new to the site and will be taking on a 5.0 swap soon.
I've done some browsing around and will be doing much more in the future here.
Just a little background. I currently have a 1994 mustang gt. Lightly modified and such.
After owning the car two years I found out some bad news.

Basically someone had cut the roof off mid pillar and welded another on and it doesn't
line up all that well, not to mention its unsafe like a ****. Anyway, it dawned on me not
to long ago while trying to figure out how to get out of my death trap that I drive, I had
majority of what i need to build a monster. Motor, trans, harness, ford racing aluminum drive line.

soooooo guess what? I'm doing a swap. currently looking for an na to swap into.
Anyway long story short ill be picking your brains as the process get started!

You have come to the right place and that is about the best use I can think of for a bad Mustang!! Where are you located?

Don't make the mistake I did get a GOOD clean Miata!

Thanks guys. Guess what?y car got hit last night while I was asleep. Soooooo now I'm even closer to getting a miata. Damage isn't terrible but I'm sure it'll be totaled by insurance. So I'll buy it back and have all the swap stuff I need.

Sounds like the gods of torque and horsepower are trying to send you a message. Let me know if you need the harness modded once you get it out.
Good luck with your project,

Perhaps Divine Intervention had occurred so you can get busy sooner on the project Miata V8. Set up a build thread when you're ready so you can post pics of the donor car and the soon-to-be-acquired Miata. Welcome & good luck!

I used a 95 GT motor and trans in my conversion. If you are planning on using the stock driveline you will have to do a slight frame mod in front of the driver shock tower. The drive shaft gets cut to 29 1/2 inches. I did not have to notch the hood for clearance. It seems the intake is a little lower than the earlier models. Good luck

InSaYnE, welcome aboard and as mentioned above,,,, don't try to save money by going with a rusty NA. Lots of cheap Southern and Western cars to be had with zero rust. Buy a clean rust free car and you'll thank me later.

Good Luck!

^ Plus one big time! ^ You don't want to fix what I am facing if you don't have to.

Jonbon88 what frame modification due to the 94-95 drivetrain? I have the frpp lightweight aluminum driveline that I was going to shorten. Also I plan on getting the most solid na I can. Gonna drop the drivetrain in all stock, then get it reffed, and the build the motor ground up. What I'm planning should be sweet. I'll post all that lovely info when I start the build thread.
