Default Any issues with deleating air bag

Now that I got the car, thinking of changing steering wheel to more retro look such as Momo wheel with horn button. Are there any issues to be aware of if I start the process?

Yes, don't remove the old steering wheel before you go pick up the new one. Makes it really had to drive to the store.

Wolf,
Thanks for the heads up. Was just wondering if I pulled the old wheel if I would have any issues with codes or warnings. If not, can I just pull he wheel and unhook the air bag connections.

It will trigger a light. Go Miata sells a hub kit that comes with a resistor and the appropriate wiring to keep the light off. That's what I used on mine. Then when I put the LS ECU where the passenger side air bag used to live I pulled the air bag light out completely. You could get preemptive and just unhook the airbag light from the get go and not worry about it.

I accidentally forgot to hook up the airbag light when I swapped dashes...
