so ive already got my 8.8 setup laying right next to my car and its going in... but im curious... has anyone ever used the stock torshen diff with 400ftlb's? i mean alot of people are switching the 7" miata diff for what a 7.5 diff? and they are having zero problems with that, im personally going all out with the 8.8 ect... has any miata ever grenaded a torshen diff? you would have to upgrade axles im sure, how about the turbo guys do they have any problems?
i ask because the 7.5 and 8.8's we trade out for are rated from the factory with no more than what 200ftlb's torque MAX, thats still a far cry from the 400ftlbs that we put on them and they do fine.
so anyone have anything?

If I hadn't already built my 8" mazda rear, my car would have a stock Miata torsen with 3.6 gears in it. I just haven't found anyone who wanted to retain a torsen but wanted the strength the 8 inch rear would provide.
If I were ever to build another car, it would have the stock torsen in it.

so you think sticking with a stock torshen would be okay? im willing to give it a shot... hell ive got the 8.8 as a back up, the stock 02 LS Miata has an 8" torshen? i thought it was smaller than that
