Default 7.5 hp rating

does anyone know how much hp and torque can a tbird 7.5 handle stock and can a 3.55 gear work in it or would it be better to stay stock

i wanna get a motor from dss engines i wanna put a turboed 347 stroker motor in a miata

If you are going to go heavy on hp then go all the way and do an 8.8 rear. Mine has 3.73 gears and a trac-lok....if it can live in a SC Cobra it can handle what I throw at it!

I think that traction would be the weak link in a 7.5 differential. Since a V-8 Miata has no traction, the rear end should hold up fine. The 3.55 gear set will work, but with the Miata's short tires, it makes it more like a 3.73 gear. I have the 3.27 gear in mine, & it is almost at the same rpm at 60mph as my 3.55 geared 1988 Mustang GT.

I'm running 270 rwhp and 306 torque through mine. Others have put them through a lot more abuse than that.
