I'm knee deep in tearing down my 99 10AE for a restoration and LFX conversion.

I believe I can sell the 1.8 drivetrain and recoup a few dollars, but mine has some caveats that will lessen the value. Curious as to what others here think they may be worth.

The vehicle has about 127K miles. The motor ran well before being pulled out, but does burn oil/smokes. I had the head completely rebuilt (maybe 2K miles ago) thinking it was valve seals, but smoking remained. I'm guessing rings now.

Transmission always worked fine, but the clutch finally went out (this was the impetus to finally pull it off the road and do the rebuild/conversion).

LSD has exhibited no issues.

I figured I would post it on craigslist, but not sure what to ask (are they worth anything in current condition?), and if CL was the best way to go?

I see bad 1.8 engines (knocking, smoking, good core but needs rebuilt) listed for $200-300.

The 6 speed should be worth 800 or so, regardless of clutch condition.

I sold my torsen/driveshaft/axles for 800.

 

My drivetrain worked real well, no smoking or noises.
Got $750 for the engine & computer & wiring harness
Got $500 for the LSD with axles
Got $500 for the transmission

None of it went in any hurry.
Took me about 6 weeks and a couple of price drops to sell it all.
