Hi folks,
Just joined the forum after doing some Googling, looking for v8 Miatas. Prior owner of a Sunbeam Tiger and series Land Rovers (yes, opposites). I do miss the Tiger. Except for the hot foot and the slowly rising temp gauge in the summer in traffic. I'm hoping the v8 Miatas are better. For awhile, the ability to pull the top off my LR 88 satisfied my convertible craving. But now we're down to one car, a Honda Element and I want a convertible and miss the v8 pull and sound.
When I had the Tiger, I remember reading about a v8 stuffed in a Miata and folks calling it a new Tiger. Not sure when that article was written, probably the early 1990s. But, thinking about that and with Google, I found Martin and have seen his pages, plus Flyin Miatas. I'm reading through some of the forum posts now. I'm not interested in building my own, and don't have a Miata. The BRG 92 in NY for sale has caught my eye, but Martin hasn't responded yet. The ad on this forum is a friend trying to help sell it, he has some info on the car, but I'd like to see a bunch of pics as well. Since I live in CA, I need to get the smog stuff correctly done for registration.
I'm old enough to have learned to listen to those who know, so shoot me your comments.
Thanks, John

Welcome! Great to have another V8 lover on the left coast. Fun to hear about the Tiger too. That is on my very short list of what I would love to build some day as well.
The market is not what you would call ripe with good V8 Miata builds at any given time but if you take your time and watch sooner or later one will come up that will work for you. For me I watched for nearly 2 years and in the first month I started my build 3 good ones came on the market!
Good luck with the search and feel free to post photos of that Tiger!
