Talking new guy to v8miata...

hello all...found this site during my investagation of a ls miata potential purchase.

about me, I do a little sailing, little drag racing, some Xcrossing and Corbra driving school at mid-ohio. Love to build stuff...welding and fabricating in metal, even though, I'm not all that good at it...I love it.

presently building/re-building a EFI turbo'ed 72 pinto that i built 30 years...24 psi boost is my target thru a 5 speed, connected to a 8.8 with 3.73 gears to some drag radials.

I like the concept of high HP, light and nible cars. my present hot rod is an AC Cobra (built by Backdraft racing) that is based on BMW e36 supension. past cars included a 356 speedster and a lotus 7, sold them and purchased a 92 mustang street/drag car...not sure that it's fitting my needs, lol

So, looking into the v8 miata as more of fitting the style of what i like to drive...nimble, lite, fast acceleration...and still can turn right or left quickly.

BTW, my daily driver is a mazdaspeed6...great balance of 4 door sedan. Oh, almost forgot...I'm an older guy that got to drive the 60's musle cars in the late 60's

My dream car???, at least today, would be a aluminium blocked V8 mid 300 cid, efi and a single turbo thru a 5 speed trans in a lotus 7 style body/chassis with IRS rear...that could have enclosed cockpit with heat.

Welcome in! These cars are a BLAST. They do not disappoint, assuming the builder knew what they were doing.

Good point about the builder. The cars do rock. Welcome!
