Default New guy from St Louis

Hey guys, been lurking for a couple weeks and figured I'd register and post a bit. I've had a 95 since 2011 and it was stock for about 10 minutes. 2012 -2014 it was a turbo rotary that never wanted to stay alive. So now i've got a 99 ls1 going in, with a t56 and cobra 8.8. I'll probably start a build thread and hopefully learn a lot from you guys along the way...

I love the rotor motors, but they sure can be a PITA.

Welcome to the forum

What ^ said!

Been there done that tip for ya. When I built mine I was fortunate to have another guy here building one at the same time. It was super helpful to chat back and forth with him as we went comparing notes and how did you do this photos. For a while we talked almost everyday! So I just wanted to let you know there is a similar build going on just down the road from you. https://www.v8miata.net/general-moto...10ae-ls1-2392/ I had the chance to stop by his house and get to know him a bit and he is a really good guy.

Again welcome to the fun, we're glad you are here and looking forward to seeing your build!

PS I'll be passing through St Louis and Marion again on the way to the Mitty in April so we need to caravan!

Hey bud, welcome, I like your style on that cobra 8.8! What year is it out of? I have been doing a fair amount of reading and a little discussion here about getting that rear into these cars, we should talk.

The rotary setup was about 300hp. I had it on the dyno early on with a junk yard 6 port motor and 8 lbs of boost and it was 240hp. It had the stock miata 5 speed and torsen rear end so I was always nervous to beat on it too hard. It was mostly used for autocross and playing around on the highway.

It's actually a 2000 Cobra R diff with the weird gerodisc center section. I still have to sort out the axles, but I have a set that can be modified.
