Very nice job Steve. Lots of life to the paint. Will be a stunner when done.
I used a similar color as the top half to "Nadine". My painter did a light coat of black under it to add depth to the Blue.

Oh My!!!! It looks spectacular in the tiny pics -- can only imagine what she looks like in person. What color is it, and did you see it on another car? What a fun build you got going here..!

Edit... It's so pretty, I had to go back a page and look again. I'd say you got your money's worth from this paint shop with the attention to detail: headlamp assemblies, engine compartment, seatbelt towers (I think), etc. Here's where I don't envy you ---- putting that first scratch on it. LOL. Lots of masking tape in your immediate future as you reassemble this thing...

It's a new mustang color, Deep Impact Blue. and yes, I got a good deal on the paint job. It was through a shop we do a lot of business with so they gave me a really good deal.

I've got a good update for those who don't follow me on IG or FB.
Sent out my 799 heads to Texas speed for Stage 1 CNC porting which includes a 5 angle valve job, shaving the head (I went with .30) and installation of the Dual valve spring kit I Opted to purchase from them. It was about 2 weeks turnaround time, but well worth the wait.

Intake port

Exhaust port

Morel 5315 Lifters

Bolting the heads on with new ARP bolts. Didn't opt for studs due to cost and this engine won't be seeing boost

Both heads installed and installed the valley cover.

Checking pickup height on the oil pan, It ended up needing to be adjusted closer to the pan.

Holley 302-2 oil pan with the road race trap door baffle

torquing the pan down

Bolted the pan and the front cover on at the same time. Alignment of both of these components is CRITICAL.

decided to see what the headers look like on the engine. They look awesome! That engine block though.. not so much. I wish I'd had it media blasted, but I'll have to settle for painting it.

Aww man, it looks so good! Heads look beautiful and thanks for the close up pics. Trust me , you'll never see much of that engine block after it's dressed out, plumbed, wired, and dropped in that engine bay! And you're either building this power plant in the kitchen or bonus room. You are the man!

Looks really nice, but I do have one question. Which oil pan is that? It looks awful tall in a couple of those pictures? Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me.

It's the Holley 302-2. Crispy test fit it on a subframe with a manual steering rack and there was about 3/4" clearance I want to say.

Got the engine harness and body/lighting harness mostly installed. I'm re-looming and hiding the lighting harness in the engine bay and the supplies for that will be here this weekend. But the ecu is mounted up along with the Dakota digital speedo converter. Also wired in a switched power bus bar for the Dakota digital and anything else I need switched power for and ran a new battery cable, it will get secured when I determine the length and routing.

Plans of progress are to finish engine engine assembly (rocker arms, pushrods, and valve covers) then assemble the engine and transmission together ans install into the car. Hopefully for good. Then I can install the frame rails and interior to make it look like a car again.

Got all the lighting and front harness stuff wrapped up! Just need to seal the harness into the boot with some large heatshrink or maybe tape. And definitely need to get some new or better condition headlight motors. These look like crap.

Good Job buddy....

I told my wife, I could probably have knocked at least $500 from the cost of my car if I could get back the money for parts that I bought and could not get my money back for.

Dropped the dash in the car and powered it up. Have some issues that need to get worked through, but its refreshing seeing that all the lighting works and the gauge cluster works. (But doesn't illuminate)

Im also tired of waiting on the tubular rear subframe for an 8.8. so I've started to fabricate mounts on the stock one. Hopefully it turns out ok and it's not wasted time and money.

This past weekend I dropped out my old rear subframe to swap in the new one. While it was down I took the gas tank down and fabricated the fuel lines for the tank to the filter location right near where the stock one was located at.

A couple take aways from the fuel lines. When making the 37° flare for the AN fittings it helps to put a little oil on the end of the line to prevent it from splitting. Also, mock it up with a coat hanger to get the shape you need and that makes it easier to bend up.

Build is looking awesome! I just started to paint my rear subframe and do fuel lines also! However I see you have progressed much further in the interior and wiring department than I have. Im jealous! haha

Have you set yourself a date that you want to shoot for?

I estimate that I'm about $4500 away from running/driving but with stock suspension and brakes. I'd like to be able to drive the car by my birthday in late December, and if not at least hear it run. So I'm going to try and focus on essential things.
Stuff left to buy to get the car running is
Intake manifold, throttle body, fuel rails, injectors,
Maf sensor, knock sensors,
Clutch and flywheel
Clutch hydraulics
Rocker arms, pushrods,
Water pump
Belt tensioner, idler, belt
Harmonic balancer
Driveshaft
Rear hubs, bearings

As said, I'd like to focus on these items unless I find a lead on good deals for other stuff. I do believe I have a lead on some big brake calipers though so I'll probably ****** those up
