7/18/16 Update:
If anyone can help me out with my AC question here, I would really appreciate it! - https://www.v8miata.net/v8-miata-wir...913/#post20892
For the true update, I actually made some more good progress on the car.
The headers/plug wires/motor mount heat shields are in. The headers required some massaging to clear the steering shaft:
But the final product is all wrapped up:
And then I moved the the interior for a little while. I got the radio, steering shaft, and shifter put back in it.

7/25/16 Update:
The build has officially passed the 1 year mark. I've had an internal goal of having a running/driving car by the end of August. I think we're still mostly on-track. As long as there aren't any major setbacks... which I'm sure there will be.
There is an track day event at Sebring on 9/11/16, that I'm really hoping to get her on the track for. So here's to trying!
Got the fender flares all mocked up:
Measured up the driveshaft, got the quick release and hub mounted for the steering wheel. Ordered the OMP Seats, steering wheel, and harnesses. And I put the console back in it.

Love the build! A lot of my motivation comes from your thread! I share a particular attachment to yours for a stupid reason.
I found that EXACT same alarm system under my dash when I bought my car! stupid thing lol.
Did I miss the first start somewhere?! Looks like you should be close!
I will be very curious to see what kind of power you make! I also am doing the 228R with the Sandersons. I am worried about 1.5" primaries really holding back that cam. Do you have plans for the collector back yet?

No first start yet. I have a couple of things to complete before I can. Mainly the radiator hoses, torque the crank pulley bolt down, get the driveshaft on... maybe that's it. I think I'm more scared to try to start it than I am excited.
I'm worried about the Sandersons with the 228r, too. When it gets dyno'd, it should be pretty telling if they're really hurting it.

That alarm system was a rats nest that took me longer than I care to admit to remove.

Can you measure clearance to the hood at the closest point to the intake. Most likely the very front where the tb bolts to.
Also, build is looking good! Not far from a driving car!

I'm happy with them. Just getting them all lined up now. I suck at body work and precision fitting like this. But overall they're pretty good.

8/11/16 Update:
Finished the Fender Flare install:
Went to Autozone and cut some radiator hoses to make them work. The couplers should be here today when I get home from work (and I'm showing off my fancy radiator cap):
I also picked up a hard-top locally. Still need to get the hardware all done, but it fits fine:
Installed the drive shaft:
Got both master cylinders all put together and bench bled and installed:
And got the quick release/wheel mounted up:
And then started filling her full of fluids:

So close!
Some stuff looks off to me about your driveline though, the driveshaft seems very short ( looking at how much of the slip yoke is exposed ). And have you measured any driveline angles? Seems like you have a lot!
Otherwise looks good! Cant wait to see her cleaned up.

Having a few issues, can't get the clutch to disengage to put the car in gear is the big one. Still working it out.

I think i bring some bad news to the table though. Im suspecting that your clutch disc is installed backwards. I took a look back through your pictures, and based on Monsters install instructions, the green face of the disc should be facing the block.

Based on all the install videos and photos, I've got it right.

Yeah im an idiot, tried to edit my post before you saw it lol.
Did you use ARP PP bolts by any chance? Ive heard of people having issues with those.
Other than that, do more bleeding! Because everything ive read, indicated that these clutch kits should not require any shims on the slave.

9/1/16 Update:
9 Days until Sebring and lots of work left to do.
Took the car around the block on her maiden voyage last night. She is definitely going to be handful, even at 30% throttle you can feel the power! She's going to be a blast.
Definitely need to do a better job bleeding the brakes as the pedal is very spongy.
