Sounds great. You’ll be on the road in no time.

Getting the body bolted back on. It looks like a Miata again. Still lots of little things to do yet. But it goes for exhaust next Monday so I’m going to wait until after to get some of those done.

Looks great. I wish I had gone that route with headers, Mine are wrapped around the cradle.

baad88 11-04-2018 09:24 AM

Thank you.
I didn’t want to use Martins headers. I didn’t even buy them with the kit.

baad88 07-02-2019 08:56 PM

Well I finally got the car out of storage.

Now I知 going the Fitech route. Got all the Mustang wiring out and swapping intakes.

Getting everything finished up. Still dealing with some issues.

Now if I can figure out why the car keeps running after I shut if off. But only after it warms up. Under 170 degrees it will shut off like normal and start just fine. As many times as I want until it warms up. Anyone have any ideas?

jrmotorsports55 08-10-2019 05:49 AM

Looks nice and clean. I'm still tempted to do this swap down the road as the 93 Ford ECU is pretty old/raw when it comes to control/adaptability.

tbone heller 08-10-2019 08:41 AM

Maybe it is trying to run away from that Chevy distributor...LOL!!

But seriously, I would check into the ignition switch and related wiring for high resistance when hot.

Everything is finally figured out and it runs fantastic. Still a few things to do like tach and pull the rear end apart. It痴 making some clunking noises. I think there will always be something with this car. Lol
as far as the Chevy distributor, I just got lazy. Lol. It almost bit me in the ass because of the height of it. Full inch taller but it just fits.

jrmotorsports55 08-25-2019 05:46 AM

Congrats! Yeah, I agree, it's always something. I don't think mine will ever be "done" as I am always thinking of things that I can improve/need to adjust or fix.

very happy with how it turned out. Still needs an altitude adjustment. But has lots of attitude. Lol
the 327 gears are a little too big but still fun. Going to enjoy it while I can this year and fix all the little things in the spring.

jrmotorsports55 10-12-2019 05:45 AM

What are your overall thoughts on the FiTech? Really considering on going that route, or Sniper, for next year as with the cam I am running, the Ford EFI is a little on the rough side, and there are not many tuners around that will mess with that old ECU.

baad88 10-12-2019 09:12 AM

I like the Fitech. It came with everything you needed and was very easy to install. The only thing I知 not a fan of is the hand held. The connections at the hand held are not very sturdy and you have to unplug them quite often. It works just fine and I知 still playing with it. The Fitech was the cheapest and I got it on sale. It痴 all about budget. Lol
really cleans up the engine bay.

jrmotorsports55 10-12-2019 09:20 AM

Yeah, I知 leaning towards Sniper. I like the idea of the great factory support, and Holley is now selling factory reman壇 600 ho units for $799 with warranty. Not bad if you ask me.

baad88 10-12-2019 11:12 AM

That is a good price. Might be cheaper than the Fitech.

jrmotorsports55 10-13-2019 08:00 AM

Yep, think it is. They have all 3 color options listed on ebay, direct through Holley. I'm currently running factory 93 Cobra ECU/MAF/24 lb injectors, and it runs pretty rough when cold, not as bad when warm (I'm sure my stage 2 TF cam is a big part of that). Thinking the Sniper and a Stealth manifold would make a great combo, just have to see if it will fit under the hood. Which intake manifold are you running?

MX-Brad 10-13-2019 08:03 AM

Nice build. Would be interested in your thoughts on the Fitech after living with it for a while. I’m thinking of ditching the OEM EFI. I’m near Grand Bend if you happen to ever be this way.

I知 running the Edelbrock Performer 302. With a 10 inch air cleaner. Fits under the hood nicely with no clearance issues. I did cut out the bracing like Martins manual said to. Because of the Chevy distributor, I did have cut a little more hood bracing.

I have about 300 kilometres on the Fitech with no issues with it. I am having an issue with heat and the starter, even though the car runs around 188-196 degrees.
