Man o man, your Miata looks fantastic! Great choice on wheels and decision to go 5 lug. Something about this car / wheel combination just looks perfect in my opinion. Thanks for updating.

Are those cut springs or did you get some coilovers? Stance is perfect.
I'm anticipating spring arriving here in about a month, so am shopping for a rollbar and heat insulation mat for my spring project. You going with a rollbar in the future?
I'm probably just going to get a Deuce- want to keep it stock looking. Sure wish I could find a decent deal on a tubular intake like yours. What a beauty piece.

 

Thanks everyone for the complements. These little cars (I washed the wife's Mustang after washing the Miata and that thing is over twice as big!) can really look nice and aggressive. One of the many reasons I decided on the project.

I have Martin's springs from his kit on the car. Rears are cut original fronts per his instruction and the fronts I cut (if I remember correctly) 3/4 of a coil off to lower it. If I ever go with coil overs I may raise the front 1/4 inch maybe however the 16 inch wheels/tires actually raised the car about 1/2 inch compared to the original 14 inch daisies.

I'm sure the wheel/tire combo is heavier than the daisies but the Mustang PBR calipers are aluminum so brakes are probably a wash weight wise. Car seems to ride smooth and nice overall until you hit a harsh bump or valley and it indeed does bottom out on the bump stops. I need to find some speed bumps to test ride height again. Before new wheels I had to go really slow and the pipes would maybe just touch the speed bump with me and the wife in the car. It should have a little more clearance with the taller tires I'm hoping.

I'm looking for a good deal on a roll bar. Having trouble coughing up $500 for not that much in material... I really like that double hoop look but we'll see.
