Default Replacing Oil and water gauges with real 1.5" ones?

I saw a post in a thread somewhere on here.. and damned if I can find it now... Where someone removed the factory Oil pressure and water temp gauges and replaced them with real aftermarket 1.5" gauges.

I was SURE i had bookmarked it, so I could follow their guidance for my own car. Well, I bought gauges that match my Revlimiter gauges pretty well and now I can't find the thread.

Does anyone happen to know which thread it was in?

Thanks!
Randy

One of the LFX guys I've been following replaced the whole cluster with Speed Hut gauges. I know the stock oil pressure gauge can be made more accurate by swapping in a 1990-94 sender and gauge (if your car does not already have one) and the temp gauge can be made linear with a modification involving a few resistors.

I've done the temp gauge mod and still wasn't happy with the performance of it. I wound up picking up a set of electrical equus gauges for the water and oil. With some minor mods I can make them work it looks like.

Depending upon what engine/car you are swapping, this could work for you...
I put an LS2 into a 2004. The stock Miata temp sender threads right into the LS head on the passenger rear side. (The heads are the same. Each has a water port. The LS PCM uses the other one, which is on the driver front side.) One wire from the sender feeds the OEM Miata gauge on the cluster. Done.
