Default BFGoodrich Rival Tire review... In the snow!

Turns out it is possible to get stuck on flat ground with Rivals in soft snow. I finally make it up my driveway using floor dry and getting over on the grass. Yes it's dumb but pretty funny!

LOL, ok, first I was thinking .... lol, it took so long that you had enough time to attract an observer. But then it dawned on me, at what point did you set up the camera? Did you try so many times already and decided you had to capture it?

My plan was to just back in one time and do a quick burn out but it took a 1/2 hour to get it in the driveway!

Hilarious! Good thing you only had the one hump at the end of the driveway and the grass strip - gave you a fighting chance!

Took me a sec to realize why the sound was so...chipmunk! But when the fpm shifted back to normal - wow - what a great sound! Mine's stored away in a barn for what's turning out to be the toughest winter in a decade (-19F here as a write this...) so that awesome sound is just a little taste of spring to look forward to!

hehehe.... that video is pretty funny. After talking to the BFG and Michelin engineers they definitely said "this tire was designed to be used in the DRY", and kept emphasizing that during the release event last year.

Vorshlag Review of the BFGoodrich "Rival" Tire - Vorshlag Motorsports Forum

My BFG Rival Review thread is linked above. I was lucky enough to be invited to this Rival release/tire test event last January at NOLA Motorsports Park, where we got to drive on Rivals vs several competing tires on a number of cars and test venues, which included skid pad, autocross, and track testing over the course of 2 days.

And while these tires are awesome.... maybe not so much in the snow.

Cheers,

Got some work done on it and did a little road testing. Rivals hook fairly well on dry pavement at 10 degrees.
