Default Smoke machine pressure for testing vacuum leaks

Does anyone out there know if it is possible to inadvertently create a "false" vacuum leak during a smoke test in their intake system because of too high an air pressure to their smoke tester? If so, how much is too much. I have leaks coming from the back side of the EGR diaphragm, which I have read might be normal, and both sides of the throttle body shaft. It occurred to me that if you test with more pressure that is normally in the system you could make it leak when it normally would not. I'm not using very much but I'm just curious before I go replacing expensive things. Any thoughts?
