This kit was on Horsepower TV. Even with the Carb, with heads and setup, the lsx produced about 600hp.
This uses a Ford distributor, and coil.

Actually it's pretty easy to make 600-700 HP (normally aspirated) with an LSX on pump gas, it's just dang expensive, Heads, Cam, Springs, Injectors, Intake, Exhaust, Tune, etc.
