Default Parasitic HP losses from crank to wheels

From another post about what are realistic HP numbers, I got to comparing new factory cars and older builds like the Miati in relation to HP loss from the crank to the wheels. From what I can find, newer cars like my 2012 Mustang 5.0 tend to lose about 10-15% from the crank to the wheels. Builds seems to lose far more and sometimes three times as much. Given that most of us search for more HP it would seem that if we can keep the parasitic losses down then we can increase HP without spending thousands for 25 or 50 HP. I am trying to find out if any builders or auto engineers have concrete answers as to why builds can not come close to factory cars in parasitic losses from crank to wheels..If I am off base on my assumption, then correct me...

Many points have been talked about in another post"Looking at realistic hp numbers" so don't need to start another thread...
