Transmission alignment
Finally got the tranny in and mount installed. It seems like the tranny is off to the left more than it should be. It's not centered in the shifter hole. It is free and shifts through all the gears with no obstructions.
Question is- will the driveshaft connect to the rear end like this? Will the ujoint compensate for the angle?
If not how should I attempt to straighten? I tried loosening engine mounts and pushing, but it seems to want to be there.

Do not try to make your engine sit straight in the chassis by measuring the distances from the back of the cylinder heads to the firewall. The heads are off-set. Use a large framing square to set the bellhousing mounting surface perpendicular to the frame rails.

So if engine is squared up, and transmission still sits a bit off axis under the car...
Will the short driveshaft and U-Joint be able to compensate for this angle without causing a harmonic vibration? I guess it would be like using a swivel socket on the end of a long extension?
I will look at the kit shifter to see of I can get shifter more centerd, but the transmission snout will still be at an angle.

T-Bone is correct.
Square the bellhousing flange( where the trans bolt on) to the frame rails. Do this by loosening the engine mount bolts and shift the engine until squareamd retighten bolts. Use an angle finder to determine the fore and aft slope of the engine with the trans and trans mount installed. Match it on the diff. drive shaft flange. Install driveshaft . Enjoy!
