Rx7 hubs. Anyone done it
Basically has anyone ever swapped the rx7 rotors(not engine rotors) onto a miata? I was wondering cause I have a rx7 with the 4 pot calipers and 5 lugs and there's something about a 5 lug that I like more.
When I did my conversion, I decided to go with the 5@4.5" pattern. For the front, I used Rx-7 front hubs and modified the Miata spindle to make it about .200 longer, then made a spacer to accomodate the larger diameter RX-7 bearing. I understand the same procedure works on Probe rear hubs. (Use the rear hub on the front)
Some details are here on page 4: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/230822...da-miata-mx-5/
I used the T-bird rear uprights and FFR axles which allowed me to use Ford Racing Cobra hubs that had the right pattern. I'm pretty sure those rear hubs could be machined to fit in the Miata rear assemblies, if you're going for a v8 conversion. If not, maybe the RX-7 rear hubs would be a better choice. Not sure about the axle splines.
