Has anyone tried using the McLeod Hydraulic Throw-Out Bearing Slip on T-5/T-45/T-56/TKO/3550 in place of the external Miata slave cylinder? I constantly have to adjust the clutch on my set up. This slave cylinder says it is self adjusting.
I use an earlier version of this McLeod bearing on my Lotus Elan with a T5 conversion. You have to have the right length because there is a limited range of self adjustment but it works fine. Had to bleed it once or twice but no adjustment
Although a hydraulic failure is rare with all new parts...in that unlikely event, it is much easier to deal with a traditional slave on bracket setup for the repair as you don't have to drop the transmission.
If you are running Martins Monster Miata clutch master I would suggest changing it to a Tilton Unit. The lack of throw from this clutch master makes adjustment on the clutch rod terrible as it needs a lot of preload to operate the clutch. The Tilton unit has so much more throw, needs no preload and feels pretty solid under foot in comparison. The Tilton part number is as follows:
No argument there, any slave can fail and it's hard to get to the concentric. On the Lotus with a T5 conversion there is zero room for an external slave so concentric is the only choice. No failures so far.

Thank you for the info on the Tilton Master. I am using Martin's Monster Miata clutch master I am open to trying the Tilton 75-875U for better performance.
