Folks,
How much difference in height is your differential flange center from your transmission out put shaft center. I what you get the trans mounting tunnel correct without a of of exercise... Thanks for your help

That would be a very subjective measurement with a whole lot of variables the biggest being what drive train you are using. If you are an LS swap it's the pass side head to the firewall clearance that determines how high the trans goes. But I think most folks just tuck the trans up as high as they can then adjust the driveline angle with the rear end.

PS it would be really handy if you would update your signature line with what drive train you are putting in the car.

Well, mine is 2.25 inches center to center, and not touching the tunnel anywhere.

The horizontal height difference (or offset might be a better word) is really never an issue in these cars. 2 1/4 sounds like a tad more than mine but still no problem at all for ujoints to over come.

What is a big deal is driveline angle and vibration from it being off. Have you looked at this post? https://www.v8miata.net/v8-miata-dri...xplained-1292/

Yes I have been aware of and follower of proper driveline angles for over 30 years. My question should have been more along the clearance in the tunnel along with the flanges. I fully realize that as closed possible in parallel would be nice, but most often not doable.
