Default An alternative idea for a diff kit ?

Has anyone tried a BMW diff ?

reason I ask - is where I am located an 8.8 or 7.5 is not sold locally and therefore when the diff and axles are added together the cost becomes crazy (I did use the racing concepts kit previously when the exchange rate was more favourable but at present its nuts to do that - over a 3rd of the swap cost in the diff and axles)

Where I am BMW driveline parts are cheap and plentiful and BMW has a few LSD in the lineup with favourable ratios from the high 2s to mid 3s - making up a mount for the diff in the rear subframe is simple enough, its the outer cv joints that I am battling with - I have found the old e30 bmw had 4 bolt hubs in 4x100 pcd and am hoping they will drop in too the mazda bearings - I am looking for e30 hub dimensions to check if they will

so has anyone else tried a different diff ? for logistical / practical reasons ?
