Are RX-7 F & Rs Hubs interchangeable
I know that some have successfully used the RX-7 hubs with adapters for the fronts using the stock Miata spindles. Does anyone know if the RX-7 hubs are themselves interchangeable front and rear? My reason for the question is that I can only find them for sale that say front and rear? Oh, and if you look at the photos of the ones on ebay, they have a backside with teeth like for some kind of sensor
Thanks
Thanks

The short answer is that they are not the same front to rear. The rears have to have the drive splines that the cv stub axle fits into. The fronts have a cartridge style bearing, they just slide on the spindle, retained by the axle nut.
The teeth that are on some hubs are for the ABS sensor if so equipped.
As a side note, Ford Probe REAR hubs will work as RX7 FRONT hubs, they are interchangeable with the RX7 hubs.

Terrific, Thanks Mike, I looked at them (sold as for front and rear) but didn't think the little cut teeth should be there and might interfere. I'll order the Ford Probe rears, is there a year specific I should look for?

Around 93-95 RX7 as shown on Rockauto, crosses to the Probe, it is exactly the same part. Part no is Raybestos 712119 or 712118, one has the toothed ring, the other doesn't. But the ring comes right off, no biggie.
There are other manufacturers, and other prices, I like Rockauto's way of listing them all.
