Default Manual Steering

Anyone here have manual steering in their Monster? I have always liked manual steering in my Miatas, plus it will keep the engine compartment a little cleaner.
Just curious if the additional weight up front makes for a more difficult car to steer with a manual rack?

We did @ one time. It's not bad. You will definitely feel the added effort needed to steer @ very low speed.

I had plans to go manual too but the more I looked into it the more stories I read about it the guys changed it back after a year or so. I opted to skip that step and leave it powered...

I had a hose blow on Nadine once so I brought her home on the rough side of manual. On the road it was ok but slow tight turns were tough. It took me a couple weeks to get a new hose made so I bleed the system and took off the pump belt and drove her that way. Once the fluid was out it was easier than I thought it would be. I really enjoyed that car once it was back though.
The new car is running a properly de-powered NB rack. I will report how it handles asap

I run a manual setup... no problem.. but take a manual rack, not the same gear. I do the same in my old Civic EG with a K24 and no problem...

Also went with factory manual rack in my LS build. More clearance from alum V8R pan and simplifies a few things under the hood. Very happy with it. But I don't parallel park this thing on Main Street! Anything above 2-3 mph and you're fine if you like some effort at the wheel. My build thread here has detailed pics of this if curious. Thx, PMC
