Hello all, just signed up after running across the site while searching LS swaps. I admittedly wont be doing any wrenching for awhile after I had knee/leg surgery friday and I'm looking at 4-6 month recovery soooo I figured I have some time on my hands to do some research ask some questions etc.

Welcome to the forum, do you already have a miata? Sounds like a good time to start buying parts!

Thanks! Yeah I got my wife a miata few years ago that came with a parts car, so I have 2 sets of stock drivetrains, subframes etc. The parts car was stripped to a shell and junked due to serious rust out. I already have one LS motor also but its not the exact one I am wanting for this car since its a 4.8 iron block, I would prefer a hybrid 4.8 alloy block swap.

Figured I would try to figure out all the parts needed for conversion and maybe start selling some stock parts to fund the swap.

I Have done multiple engine conversions in past including diesel swaps and body/frame mods and swaps so the actual fabrication doesnt scare me but would like to figure out what parts fit best first. I'm also more into junkyard parts sourcing vs buying new so if a stock part from another vehicle can be made to work vs aftermarket I will usually go that way.

Have you been through this thread?

There is a wealth of knowledge there, but since you said you like adapting other parts to make your swap work, you really need to check out Jim Stainers (Charchi4) car. He is hands down the master and making a square peg fit in a round hole, his blog is in that thread, but for good measure here it is too.

Nice build up man, I'm still reading through it right now, you definitely took things way further than I am looking to do lol. Here is the thread I started on my idea. Like the title says looking for opinions if it s feasible plan.

I actually put the wrong thread in my previous post at first, I corrected it now though
