Default New Owner in Chicago

Hello all, I just took ownership of Jconner's 331 Stroker build. I live in Chicago and am dying not being able to drive it in this weather. I have a 1.8 94m that was originally bought with the thought of doing my own swap and I couldn't bring myself to cutting into it (under 80k and no rust is unheard of in this area).

Jconner bought his car from another member a little bit ago and found a few gremlins lurking that he was able to fix. There is still a low compression issue that he said is there (i've only driven around the block when it was delivered and didn't notice anything). Anyone know of a good engine builder in the Chicago area?

I'm looking forward to getting to know others who share my obsession for these cars.

Nick

Welcome to the forum and now stop! A photo is worth a 1000 words....

Bad things happen to a V8 Miata in the winter! I was just rolling down the road not speeding up or slowing down and the back end kicked out with no warning. Spring is coming!

Anyway welcome from a fellow north country guy! If I could trouble you to go HERE and check out the thread on signatures and photos it will make life easier for you here.

Another thread to keep an eye on is the mitty thread. Things are starting to come together for our annual gathering and it's really worth the trip.

I'm really glad you guys are here welcome!

Welcome OP! We sure are in the middle of a deep freeze. It's currently -1F here, but that just means it's V8 Miata build/repair/maint time in the garage. I know where I will be tonight.

Nick and Robert have 2 nice new toys in Chicagoland. The blue NB from Florida should be a blast on the track. Glad you're here as well!
...Just love Jim's wintertime photo (from last winter). Looks like a smooth and graceful exit off an interstate to me. Perhaps a quick decision to pull off for a photo shoot or a picnic lunch!!
