Default Intro

Hi everyone my name is Ben. I live about 20 minutes from Watkins Glen. It is great to have a track like this in my backyard. I have done a couple track days and enjoy being at the track whenever possible. I love the way the miata handles but I also love the power of a V8. So I bought a 91 Miata to do a conversion with. I am sure I will have a lot of questions. I will start a build thread shortly. I hope I can help with contributions to the forum.

Hi Ben and welcome to the forum! I'm looking forward to hearing your plans and seeing you build come together! Have you decided on which power plant yet?

Hey Ben -- Glad you joined us here and hope you'll keep us posted on the LS1 build. I hope to get to Watkins Glen and Lime Rock someday - just love road coarses - either for track days or as a spectator, doesn't matter. I visit VA Int'l Raceway as often as I can since it's about 90 min away. Home | VIRginia International Raceway

Welcome Ben!

My local track is Pocono but I'd love to run at the Glen at some point. It's unfortunately right at the distance that I'd have to stay over which is not a possibility until my kids are out of diapers.

V8 Miatas are at home on the track. I've been tracking mine for about 5 years and can't imagine bringing anything else. If you want to actually look into competition there's the Eastern version of Supermiata that runs at some of the tracks mentioned in this thread. I haven't had a chance to do one but it looks like they are an excellent opportunity to actually "race" a V8.
