Default Hello from snowy Colorado

Hey guys, Keith from Flyin' Miata here.

In case you don't know who Flyin' Miata (FM) is, we've been making Miatas faster for the past 20 years. We got into the V8 game in 2007 and there's been a lot of interest from both long-time customers and people who don't even own a Miata. Because of our long experience with the car, we've got a full range of parts available from brakes to suspension to just about anything else to improve performance and keep that big engine under control. Our own V8 car - Elvis - sees a fair bit of track time and will be at Laguna Seca in April for the big Miata event. Personally, I've taken at least one FTD and a Miata lap record in the car so it moves okay.

There are no V8 Miatas in my own garage, but I am building an LS1-powered MGB GT for my wife.

Keith,

I figured it would only be a (short) matter of time before you guys were here. It was the ride in Elvis at the last open house that convinced me to do a V8 swap.

I'm in the queue for the turnkey option and still have second thoughts (regrets) on not doing it myself. Given the climate I live in and the lack of a heated garage, turnkey is simply the best option for me. It would be a multi year job for me to do it myself and time is money.

In the meantime, I've been reading and searching everything I can on LSx motor swaps since I will maintain the car when it is finished. I did find your thread in the LSx forum regarding the MGB GT build and am enjoying following it.

Now the Selfish side of me. Sure would be great if my car could go in the shop early summer. I could drive to the Miatas in MOAB event in May, do a few days of biking in MOAB and drop the car off at the shop before heading home. I could then pick it up at the 2010 Open House. Of course, Being a realist, I understand it probably be late summer of 2010 before I can get it in the shop and I won't get to enjoy it until 2011. In either case, all is good and it gives me something to look forward to
