Evening All
Hi Guys. Just joined the forum and thought I'd introduce myself and say hello. I'm Pete, and from the other side of the pond to the majority of you I guess, in the UK.
Currently I'm sat eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new MX5, which is on its way up the motorway on the back of a truck as I write Its a '98 silver nb. I went to have a look at it on Saturday and decided it was the right car for the job. I dont know about over there in the US, but here they are plagued by rust issues. I've looked at 19 cars that were supposedly 'completely rust free' and found them all to be wrecks.
So, the plan...Quite simply its going to be an all out drag car, and will not be used on road at all. I already have the engine, an LS1 which I built myself and has been in my RX7 for a long time. Last time it was in use it was running at just short of 600bhp. A few changes before it goes into the mx5 and Im expecting maybe 650 to start with, although Im not chasing numbers and will be quite happy if that doesnt change at all.
Once the car arrives I'll get some pics uploaded, and probably create a build thread. Until then, I'll leave you with a pic of my V8 rx7 which the car is to replace

Welcome and wow! Sounds like you have quite a project planned and it will be fun to watch it come together. Are you planning to put something else in the RX7 then? It looks like a really nice car!!

thank you jim. unfortunately no, the rx7 and i have parted company im afraid. it was the toughest decision i ever had to make, having owned it almost 10 years. i wasnt really left with a choice though at the end of the day as financial issues meant i had to part it out im afraid.
couldnt bring myself to part with the engine though, so i had to find somewhere to keep it warm
