94 Miata getting thunderbird supercoupe V6
Hello from Canada, I currently own a 94 Miata and have been collecting parts and reading up on this forum to figure out what to do and not to do. Thank you for all your combined knowledge it is much appreciated. This past summer my son and I picked up a 92 Ford thunderbird supercoupe with the V6 supercharge engine. It was my sons first engine pull, happy to say everything went well and we labeled and pulled all the parts we needed including the 8.8 irs rear with 3:27 traction lock. Have modified the wiring harness to work in the Miata and have picked up a used front subframe to modify this summer. Have been teaching my son how to mig weld he is twelve now and have wanted to do a Miata conversion for some time now. With my son turning into a teenager this year hoping with this conversion to keep some of his interest so we can spend some quality time together. Why the V6 ? Wanted to do a V8 conversion for years and when
Looking for an engine, decided to do something different. I am sure someone else has already done this to a Miata with this engine but so far have not found any info or build threads on the thunderbird engine Miata combo. Tim

Hi SebZ, nice to meet you. Thank you for reading my post. Love all the work you have done to your car, looks awesome ! As far as the turbo, will wait and see how she pulls with the supercharger, if not enough for me will definitely ask for some advice on the turbo.

I make a lot of swap with the 3.8l supercharged (On the GM side). The turbo free about 40HP at the same boots over the SC.
Can't wait to see picture of the engine in the car.
Maby will see your car one day your about 3 hours from me...

Definitely would love to get into some Miata meets and other car shows. Have been to so many but not to bring a car for others to see. Did some meets and shows back in my twentys, had a 77 Camero back then all done up. Would love to meet you and some of the other Miata owners. Hoping to put a good dent into the project this summer and would like to have it running, from reading all the other builds I should not get my hopes up in having it done this year. I am ok with that as it is more for the journey with my son to build something together we bo can eventually enjoy. Will take lots of pics as we progress. Thanks for advice and encouragement.
