Default LS Guage Cluster/Dash Ideas please

As some of you know, I just picked up a 1996 LS conversion. All wiring was done with a painless harness and all wires for the gauges are sitting there not connected. Previous owner was going to dremel out Miata gauges and fit in aftermarket gauges for the LS.

Can some of the LS folks post some pictures of their Guage setup? I currently have a small Daskhawk hooked to the OBDII, but it is too small and for diagnostics only.

I'm using the stock gauges with a white FM face. For the speedo to work there is a box that drives the speedo cable in the engine bay. It's accurate at steady speed, but has a tendency to hop around a bit at times. If I was looking to go aftermarket Speedhut would get my bills. FM makes a blank to fit the cowl space to mount them in.

my first gauge set up. worked well but the wiring was a bit messy for it. messy in the engine bay.

after i got the Holley ECU i got their v1 touch screen. it was great as it cleaned up the engine bay and i could get rid of all the extra censors.

i didtced the V1 for the v2 dash. the v1 was kinda small. made it very hard to see the tach when shifting @ 130mph. and the V1 didn't auto dim. at night it was like looking into the sun.

Here's the SpeedHut gauges I used. These happen to be their series that is Can BUS compliant and pulls all the data from my GM E40 PCM. Made my wiring very simple, in fact. Was able to get all 6 gauges mounted in 1/4" sheet of aluminum that is secured by the 4 Mazda screws that hold the Miata gauge panel. It's nice that all 4 screws are on a flat plane. In addition, SpeedHut incorporates high beam and turn signal indicators in speedo. And, the CanBUS gauges have CEL and P zero codes in digital odometer. Super easy to work with!

Wrapped the alum sheet with 3M vinyl wrap to make it sort of OEM.

Since I used a painless harness, I have one wire PCM connections in the dash now. Leaning towards Speedhut setup. FM directions say to use miata oil pressure sender in stock LS location. Does the PCM need that info? Is it okay to remove that from its diagnostics information by removing LS oil pressure sender?

LS PCM does NOT need oil pressure. You can use an adapter to put the Mazda sender in that location, or use an aftermarket one. I don't believe the stock one will fit with the intake manifold though, may need to remote mount it or use an angled adapter.
