Default $5 Homelink

I thought that I would re-post this . This is a Homelink garage door opener that I got from the sunvisor of a Lincoln Town Car for $5 at the junk yard. I installed it in the location that would occupy the power window switches. It can be programed to operate 3 different garage doors. I also put one in my Cobra (hidden under center of dash), & have one to put on my riding mower.

So, it's just a power feed? Not bad. What about a transmitter and all that? Also, make sure it's switched if you leave the car outside of the garage...

Two wires, + & -. It can be programed to open many model garage door openers, gates, & remote lights. They work on my Chamberlin openers fine. Being of two different styles, I always had to carry 2 remotes in each vehicle. Not anymore. Some of the newer openers, like the LIFTMASTER 8500, which I will be getting two of for the new garage, require a 855LM Homelink repeater kit.

The homelinks from an Explorer/Mountianeer also contain a voice recorder.
