It depends on your fabrication skills. In my case, I have the absolute minimum including no welding experience. My solution was to put an LFX into an NC. The only body work was taking a ballpeen hammer to a small area of the firewall to allow clearance for the high pressure fuel pump. The only subframe welding was to add mounts for the diff which I out sourced. In addition, the exhaust work was also farmed out.

Again, my build was for a streetable car and the 300+ HP at the rear wheels has proven quite sufficient. Others have not been so lucky with V8's. Your mileage may vary.

Well, let me ask this a different way. I am looking for a car already built, either by Flyin' Miata or V8r. No disrespect to anyone's building skills but I do not want another project car. I have several already. I bought 2 5.0 NA Miatas that were supposed to be turn key cars only to find out that they are not. Now don't get me wrong, I don't regret buying those cars but I have gone from "hop in let's go for a spin" to "it will be really cool someday" with those. I am keeping those cars but I want to "shoot the moon" with a LS3. I have seen the work that Flyin' Miata and V8r does and I feel that their stuff is better sorted out than a home built car. Again, no offense. The real purpose of my question is to poll a few owners to see which model of car is better suited to the conversion. Which car produces the best results. The car will not be tracked but I still want the best handling well balanced car that I can get. I have 3 NA Miatas and have no experience with the other models so therefore I am trying to learn from you guys which model produces the best conversion. Insight like "I did it to a NA but I wish that I had done a NB or an NC etc. and the reason why. Is there one model that is easier to cool? Does one handle better etc? Like I said I am willing to spend the money but I only want to do it once. Thanks again. All input welcomed the more the better. Now is the time to brag about your builds.-Brad

I would say give Shandelle at V8Roasters an email. He sells kits for each model and would be happy to give you an opinion on each model.
