That is one location that I never even considered.

I did the same thing with mine except I flipped it over. It fit good around the contour of the inner glove box

I removed my passenger airbag and put it there. I still have use of my glovebox and a factory appearance.

not sure sorry it was on there when I bought it. It’s ok it’s just a plastic one.

Regarding the fuel pump wiring discussion earlier, an upgrade kit was recently released Trackspeed Fuel Pump Rewire Kit and https://www.flyinmiata.com/trackspee...mp-rewire.html

Mine should arrive this week, and should be good, if slightly expensive, insurance.

Much harder to install then the other hard dog roll bars I’ve done tree of the the hoop with cross bars and this was a pain in the neck. Doing it myself isn’t any help but still tough.

I see you got the eBay shifter stick, but which shifter did you go with? Just an f-body shifter?

My donor was a gto and I obviously ditched the shifter and grabbed an f-body shifter I had sitting around for the time being...but it’s only about 12 inches too tall lol. I’m thinking aftermarket shifter with a stubby stick.

Sleeper

stng_96 Apr 30, 2019 08:43 AM

Hold on, hold the phone, I just had a serious flashback.....to Pats thread(Sorry Pat!:cheeky4:)....Such a nice build you have with so many nice parts and you choke it down with single small non mandrel pipe? 2.5"? I mean, at least it isn't as small as his was, but come one now.

I understand the sleep thing, and at the end its your car

boileropp Apr 30, 2019 11:40 AM

yes im not sure i love it yet

grubinski Apr 30, 2019 01:35 PM

I tend to agree. I was going to have mine completely debadged "because sleeper" but once you fire one of these up, there is no fooling anybody. I'd go with a dual exhaust.

But hey, your car, :-)

stng_96 May 2, 2019 07:57 AM

Didn't say that in any way to take away from the car you've built, and truth be told its been proven that a single 3" tube is generally better than two 2.5"ers but that assumes 3" all the way back. Those two bends appear to have a pretty deep impression from the bender.

Good thing is, it doesn't stop you, drive it around for a bit and see what you think, you can always remove it and sell to someone doing a budget friendly build down the road.
