Yikes that was a big credit card swipe! I didn't realize this but I missed your 9/11 post and you should PM ToySnake on that control arm deal. That doesn't look right to me and seems to me he had some issues with missing washers and God watching out for him on that. Build looks really good!

Got the frame rails bolted on for a test fit over the weekend.
https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1445345810 https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1445345810 I still need to pull them off to get them siliconed and to clean up where the V8Roadsters is cut out, but the bulk of the work is done now. |
Nice build

^Likewise. also, what kind of baffling it has inside it.

Yes, please post upcoming pics and info on the incoming oil pan.
Just saw Jim's above post... Did you resolve your concerns with the a arms and V8R subframe? I'm pretty certain that I didn't have the same "gaps" you took pics of. (My issue that Jim refers to was Outside, Rear Lower a arm bolts (left & right) were missing large washers (ft & rr) on the bolt that secure bushings from walking out of V8R a arms. It was this nut (not V8R) that somehow failed to install them before issue was discovered.) Keep us updated. Liking these Florida builds very much...! |

I took it apart, cut the sleeves down, and it all fits perfectly now. |

Definitely looking forward to seeing if this fits
They did say that I can return it for a full refund as long as it isn't damaged. So it's worth a shot. |
10/29 Update:
Ordered the accessory drive kit: GM 19155066 And the water pump: GM 89018052 Also ordered the Sway Bar kit end-link parts: Allstar Performance ALL58006 Standard Series 3/8" Steel Right Male Rod End Allstar Performance ALL58036 Standard Series 3/8" Steel Right Female Rod End And new knock sensors/harness and an oil pan gasket. |
I'd really like some dimensions also. Looks like it could be a solution for my Jeep. :)

The speedmaster pan came in last night.
I posted pictures in the Oil Pans thread for everyone else. If you want to take a peak, here you go: https://www.v8miata.net/general-moto...gly-801/page3/ |
All that sex and factory cast valve covers! Powder coating those black would look great.

I just have them sitting there to keep the dust/debris from getting into the heads. Don't worry. They've actually already been painted since I took the picture. |
Very jealous! Progress is looking good.

12/7/15 Update:
Got the motor in the car this weekend for the first test fit. https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1449496074 https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1449496074 https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1449496074 It's tight in the back, but it fits well just about everywhere else. With the exception of the Speedmaster Pan. I'm still fighting with it, it's in the oil pan thread: https://www.v8miata.net/general-moto...gly-801/page4/ |
Aaaaahhh! The first test fit - a true early highlight in anyone's V8 swap. Hope you took a few minutes and knocked back a cold one as you soaked up the moment!
|
^ because it will go in and out in and out in and out in and out in and out

12/16/15 Update:
Did some welding/priming/painting this weekend now that the engine fits in there. https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1450294751 https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1450294751 https://www.v8miata.net/attachment.p...ine=1450294751 |
Looks real sharp, are you going to paint the whole car black or just the engine bay?
