Default 99NB 302 Porsche body with RX-7 Diff

I have been trying to get this far due to the hot weather in Fl. Finally cooler and able to get some things done. The last photo (Porsche 935) is what I intend to turn my Miata into...well as close as possible. I have the Porsche front nose piece and it works well The engine is a 88 302 with a the usual goodies, PLUS 44 IDF Webers for carburation. New T-5 and a 93 TT RX-7 rear suspension is chosen because it is very adjustable. A few photos!

Default more on RX-7 install

Finally did a will it fit on my Miata using a 93 RX-7TT complete rear unit...looks like all is quite doable. /my reasoning was the b is very tunable compared to the Miata for bot toe, castor and camber, parts are really easy to find, (brakes. the TT rear diff is routinely used at drags with a lot more HP the I was shooting for, and I wanted n easy way to get to 59 inch track without spares, and now that drifting is coming on strong, gears sets for the LSD can be had without much trouble...also I gained 1 inch in wheelbase. Thats ok too to fit the 935 body works

Wow this is going to be very interesting. So I'm not quite following here are you going to put the Porsche body on the Miata chassis somehow? Whatever I'm in and subscribed and looking forward to this build!

A couple suggestions. Use and external site for your photo hosting and rip them down to around 300 k before you post them. Details on that here. https://www.v8miata.net/site-tips-su...ps-tricks-329/ Otherwise with them in the thread and as big as they are this thread will load really slow with a few more posts.

Also you might want to change the name of the thread to something other than 1st post since there will be a lot more than that when you are done.

Thanks for doing a build thread!

I will be using some actual Porsche body parts and fabricating the rest. My big worry was how much moding to get the RX-7 rear to fit, I know the photos are not that clear, but it is almost like Mazda engineers sat around thinking what if!!

Default 99NB 302 Ford with RX-7 Rear

Finally got some more work done today. Got the rear portion bolted up to the Miata frame cross member and the stock location of the RX. As you can see, it is somewhat narrower than the Miata in it bolted location, but I wanted to use all original as possible to avoid making other attachments. As can be seen, the front locating truss arms will have to be hooked up to the other rear cross member of the Miata, but that will be a good strong location....I hate welding upside down, so will be barrowing a rotisserie before the next effort. But everything will be coming together as planned.
