On a SN95 swapped 302, I have seen 2 people that have cut the frame away to accommodate the stock AC compressor, but have read about mounting it in the old smog pump location. I am eliminating my emissions equipment and want to go that route. Does anybody have pictures or a write up on what mount to use and any fabricating needed? I could probably figure it out, but I don't have any of those brackets and need to know what to buy or find.

I will weld a pipe to a thin, but sturdy, plate to suspend the compressor from the block. If time permits, I’ll try and use all Miata components.
