Default initial timing on 5.0

I'm new to the site but can already see how helpful everyone is. So with that, I have a question. How do I set the inital timing on my recently rebuilt 5.0 motor? I wouldn't have a problem if this were a Chevy, I've spent most of my life with small block Chevy's. This conversion was my first experience with a Ford (and probably my last) too expensive!

Default

Remove the SPOUT connector & set the timing to 10*. Re-install connector.
Too expensive? The GOOD Ford & Chevrolet parts are about the same price. Some crappy Chevrolet stuff can be purchased much cheaper
