Default FiTech vs Ford fuel injection

So I've been doing a lot of reading on the Fitech units. I have pretty much all the ford stuff now but I'm not convinced I want to spend the time and money wiring and getting the ford fuel injection running. The FiTech is a plug and play setup that will grow with me as I find more money to build the motor down the road. I'm not really sure on how comparable the power and efficiency would be between the two to be honest. I do like that I can program the FiTech myself and it gives me the option of forced induction down the road if I buy the power adder model.

The only road block I can see at the moment is the price of the FiTech but I'm sure I can get a few bucks out of the ford stuff.

Anybody have opions on which way they would go?

Systems like that are pretty nice in that they are more or less self contained. If tunablity is what you are after have you looked in to the different MegaSquirt systems? There are a few that will plug into a stock Ford harness if you have one and if you do not you can make up your own pretty easily.
