Default Widebody big tires 99 miata

Ok, I finally got my car painted. The car has 17x10 rims on the rear with
315 35 17 tires and 16X8 rims on the front with 215 40 16's. The front rims stick out further than the tires and I don't like that look so I'm gonna get rid of them and go with some 245 40 16's for a more old school and less ghetto look. Here's a link to the walkaround... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9UkiVxTrrU

I already posted how I did it in my build thread "Retrospective automatic with 315's on the back"

I'm taking it to the Motorplex in Ennis TX a week from friday. They advertise that if it is street legal and you have a driver license...you can run it. It won't pass a bunch of the NHRA rules but I'm hoping they don't enforce them on Test and Tune Nights.

I may try one of those SCCA parking lot events in the fall once it cools down a bit.

I have a group of folks coming down to see the two V8 Miatas run.

(and bringing some of their toys)

Cool, I have great news....I called the motorplex yesterday and they said all of the NHRA safety rules are not enforced on Fast Fridays. If it is street legal and you have a driver license..you can run.

I wonder if they would allow my full face motorcycle helmets? if not I have to go track a legal helmet down.

I get the feeling a helmet is not even required. I borrowed one from a retired dirt track racer that is legal. You could call them. They answer the phone all day long.

That looks really clean Jack. Like the headlights as well, those are aftermarket or modified NB2? Great job.

The headlights are aftermarket ones made for a 2001 or newer....it required me to get a newer front bumper cover too. The 99 model came with slightly rounder headlights. Here is a link to a company selling the headlights. 2001-2005 Mazda MX5 Dual Angel Eye Halo & LED Projector Headlights - Black

The picture shows blue led's but mine has white ones.

The front fenders were purchased AWR Racing - 1st Gen Miata Wide Body Kit with Racing Beat Bumpers

I made the rear fenders from scratch. I learned a lot thru the process and could do another set in 1/2 the time.
See my post 99 miata with 315's on the back if you are interested in that.

Sorry for the late reply. I stopped getting those emails this site sends me when someone has a question.

The front fenders were part of a kit. I made the back ones from scratch.
