Monster Mazda RX7 Convertible Cobra Killer - $16,000 - Craigslist
Monster Mazda RX7 Convertible Cobra Killer - $16,000 (Warrenton, southwest of Washington, DC)
Ad says: 1989 RX7 Convertible with all aluminum 5.3 Liter V8 LS1 engine and T56 six speed manual transmission - similar drivetrain to C5 Corvette. Approximately 400 hp.
Upgraded suspension, brakes and limited slip differential. Headers with stainless exhaust, mufflers and resonators.
The paint and interior have also been redone - it's a beautiful car. Only 72,000 original miles, with a few hundred miles on the conversion. It's tastefully upgraded, and you wouldn't know that it's non-stock until you hear the engine. While it's not too loud, it could be, if that's what you're into.
The car is similar in concept to an AC Cobra, but is more practical and drivable with power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, power convertible top and air conditioning. Someone called this car the Mongoose. In my opinion, it's a more comfortable car with better handling at a similar weight to the Monster Miata.
The car was recently brought out of storage. Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to drive a manual transmission, especially in heavy traffic, so I'm reluctantly parting with the car.
I'm willing to negotiate with anyone who comes to see the car in person. Otherwise, assume the price is firm.
Please include your phone number with your response to avoid spam. I'll call you to discuss the car. Sorry, no texting.
