2004 LS3 Miata (Mazdaspeed base) Turbo Tom build
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-mazda-mazdaspeed-mx-5-miata-19/#comments-anchor
This 2004 Mazda Mazdaspeed MX-5 Miata was first registered in New York and later spent time in Massachusetts, where it was acquired by the seller in August 2014 and subsequently modified. A 6.2-liter LS3 crate V8 was installed along with a Tick Performance six-speed manual transmission and a Cadillac-sourced limited-slip differential, and the engine swap utilizes a V8 Roadsters front subframe. The car is finished in Titanium Gray Metallic over black leather upholstery, and equipment includes a removable hardtop, a black convertible soft top, fog lights, a decklid spoiler, and a Bose sound system. Additional modifications consist of 15″ 949 Racing wheels, a Wilwood front brake kit, a V8 Roadsters LSx cooling system, a Hurst shifter, and a Flyin’ Miata coilover suspension system, air intake system, and exhaust headers. Service performed within the last year reportedly involved replacing the tires in addition to changing the engine oil and servicing the transmission and differential fluids. This NB Miata is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, two key fobs, build records, dynamometer test results, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.

I have seen conversions with auto transmissions and paddle shifters, not on an LS but I’m sure it could work. There’s actually a thread on Miata.net from someone installing a DCT from a BMW, but you could probably use a GM trans more easily as long as it lines up. Paddle shifters are just a steering wheel swap or some wiring in the clock spring, you can get NC and NDs with paddle shifters IIRC.
