Reason: SOLD!
2. Do you have the Dyno sheets? No. They were done some time ago when the car had about 1000 miles on it. I do have some text exchanges with the creator of the car when I purchased it.
3. Any brake changes? No. My track experience with the car indicated it did not need a brake upgrade.
4. 4, 5 or 6 point harnesses? Car is setup for a 4 point system. Package comes with two 4 point Willans and one 5 point Schroth.
5. Rich issues? I think I addressed the major one. My answers to his issues are listed below.
6. Will you trade this car for another? Nope. I am reducing the number of cars I own. I am not interested in a trade for this V8 Miata.
7. Are Catalytic Converter installed? No and I do not have ones for the car.
8. Where is the car located? Germantown, MD. 20874
9. PCM P0601 error fixed? Yep. Had to put in a new E40 PCM. Got a refurbished one from Current Performance who did the first PCM programming and programed this new one.
That's some build. (Stacy David vid starts at 20:05.) Are the harnesses 4, 5 or 6 point?
The car has 4 point connectivity for harnesses. The purchase of this car comes with 2, 4 point Willans and one 5 point Scroth. The track events I have been to had an issue with the Willans - I forget exactly what is was but I do remember it was silly. So, I bought a Scroth and removed the 5th connection from the set. The Willans are what I use when street cruising. I pop in the Scroth for track days.
This V8 Miata is sold. The package went for $20,500. It took about 3 weeks on this site. I ONLY posted on this site. Excellent site for selling a V8 Miata! Lots of traffic to my post.
This car will be listed here soon. Rich had some issues and I accepted the car back:
1. Fans came on then turned off. I replaced relays. Testing showed no problem till one day watching my scanner I noticed temperature to drop to -40F. Seems, there was a engine temperature sensor starting to fail. I replaced and testing so far show no issues. Fans pop and cool at around 196F.
2. Hard starting when warm. I noticed this prior to replacing sensor, but only occasionally. I am chalking this up to poor temp reading setting air incorrectly. When I caught the sensor problem the car started to cough and not run smooth. I have not yet seen this repeat since replacement. Starting this car requires a 15 second wait with fuel pump running before starting. You quick start it and there may be subsequent issues.
3. Scrubbing when turning wheels. This car is LOW to the ground. I shipped to Rich with 17s and I run the car with 15s. 17s gave a bit more ground clearance for shipping. Before shipping to Rich I had it aligned with the 15s and also pushed the front Xidas to the max height. I think for a daily, you may want spacers on the top of the Xidas for the front and maybe all around. The car will come with old shocks and mounted Xidas as is. I maxed the Xidas for delivery and if I was going to use them for track fun I would bring them back down. You decide. Scrubbing is most likely the 17s needing a bit more clearance to make sharp turns.

That is nice of you to bring it back! I am still torn between keeping my e30 and having a little Miata beast. Let me know if you’re ever interested in a trade. If the opportunity comes I’d sell my car in a heartbeat for that Miata!
That is very nice of you to take the car back. While no one wants to have issues with something they just bought, these cars are obviously highly modified and with that sometimes you end up with a few bugs.
I truly thought the buyer was going to be excited and love it. It is a sweet car. I had NO clue he would have random over heating issues. I tried to debug the problem over phone and email and text. But no luck. It was such a shock to me that I felt so bad that the car was having this sudden issue, and I wanted him to be happy, that I paid for shipping it back to me and returned all the money. I guess it was a moment of weakness but I feel better.
Yep. Car is available. I will not go through the Dyno effort and expense. Currently, I am replacing the PCM for the LS2. I was about to sell the car and in preparing for the sale my PCM for the LS2 threw a P0601. This is the PCM checksum error for its engine running code. The day before selling the car, I got this error. Anyway, I am in the process of replacing the PCM, should be finished maybe next week.
6/09/2019 - this car is still available. PCM was replaced. Replaced with a refurbished E40, used same programming and same programmer - who was/is Current Performance down in FL. Ran car this weekend on the road with no issues. Car remained cool under highway speeds, hovered around 190F.
