1992 5.0 Miata - Full Martin Wilson Kit
Selling my toys to fund my wife's pool project. I find my military occupation keeps me too busy to enjoy the fruits of my labor, so I am selling to benefit the entire family with a pool.
The car is a 1992 Miata that is fully inspected and passes emissions in Houston, TX without issue. In about one more year, this car will be 25 and smog exempt here.
Car started out as a SPEC Miata and is fully caged with a Miatacage, full fire suppression system with 6 nozzles and 2 pull handles, engine cutoff switch, full SPEC Miata suspension from Mazda Motorsports, Ultrashield aluminum 18in driver seat, fiberglass passenger seat, 5 point harness in both seats, helmet blower system, removable wheel, and other items requires for the SPEC series.
Motor is a 302 from a 1993 Mustang that was fully disassembled and rebuilt to stock specs at a machine shop in Katy, TX. New water pump, oil pump, seals, timing chain, and E303 cam. A set of aluminum AFR 165 heads tops it off with a dyno tune of 273RWHP. Most components on the motor are new (coil, distributor, sensors, etc.)
From McCully Racing, I have installed a modified wiring harness, TFI module relocation kit, and have the lines for the AC that I never installed. I have all the components but never hooked it up.
I designed a custom CAI box to lower intake temps.
Fuel is delivered by a new Walbro 225 pump.
Tranny was bought from a shop that rebuilt it with a new gear set and seals.
Rear end is the Ford 8.8 IRS from a Thunder chicken.
Suspension includes Bilstein shocks with adjustable coil overs and Eibach springs. Sway bars are Eibach with adjustable end links.
V8R Frog Arms for stiffness
Brakes have braided lines with new 11in Corrado rotors on front and 10in Miata Sport setup for the rear. Matched with Carbotch XP10's and 8's its stops on a dime! All NEW!
Just mounted up the wheel and tire setup recommended by Flyin Miata. 15x9 Advanti Storms with Toyo RR 225's. Maybe 200 miles on them
Exhaust is full custom with exotic dual tips, catalytic converters, and flowmaster mufflers.
All stock Miata gauges work.
Currently I have a half dash in it for something different, but have a full dash that can go along with it if you desire.
As far as the outside, the hood is a Simpson louvered cowl fiberglass hood, and the rear is an Autokonexion 2 piece fastback with removable trunk. Flares are version 1 flares from Autokonexion. Flares, hood, and fastback are wrapped in digital camo.
I know I am missing many things, but will add them as questions arise.
I have been tinkering with this car for a long time now and drive it to work on occasion. Been to the track twice, and is performs well. I have loved to drive it, but it is time to set it free (not sold for free) and move on.
Don't want to think how much money and time are in my car, but I am asking $18,000.

So, I sold my LS2 Miata a while back to fund the pool. Pool has been great! Before I sold it, I took it to the Texas Mile and hit 176.6MPH. I have been hooked ever since. I have been planning a 200MPH car and wanted to do a Miata, but feel an RX-7 FD will have better aero. So here we go again, gonna list my 302 Miata as pictured above up for sale to fund the RX-7 project. Since the last posting, I have added some 15x12 rims in the rear wth wide Hoosier tires and some Hoosiers in the front for better track action. Car is so much fun. The only think I have not done that I was planning was complete fuel system make over. Get rid of the small Miata lines and add a fuel cell with AN-6 lines for delivery and return.
Still asking $18,000. What are your questions?

BEST of Luck with the sale. IMHO your's is the Baddest to the point of EVIL, 5.0 Miata I've ever seen. Would love to have it in my stable, but unfortunately.....not feasible.

Completely agree. 176.6 in the LS2 Miata was fun, but car started to become unstable at about 160. Nose wanted to float. This LS6 FD feels so much better. I am going to go all in with front splitter, side skirts, and a large wing. The rear end will be the 8.8 like in the Miata I'm selling, but with a 3.27 or 3.08 ring and pinion. On 255/50/16's - calculator says I should get there! As much as I love my Miatas (still keeping my SPEC racer), the FD is a better driving car with the LS.

Price reduced
My RX-7 project is coming to a close. I will sell my beloved Miata for 16500. What a deal for a car that can be daily driven or taken to the track. Also has so many one of a kind mods that everyone wants me to sell separately.
