Owners really need to stick to thier guns on price. Remember, there are not that many built V8's for sale at any point, and very few of them are as nice as this one. If FM can get $30K + to build one that should be our starting point.

What you have is comperable to a LSx in power and (with the MS3) modernization. There is no reason it can not command the same price.

The only thing driving converted Miata prices down is our willingness to part with them cheaply. I say keep it at the $27,500 price you started with and don't budge. If someone balks at that kindly send them to Monster Miata so they can buy a kit, the local craigs list to find a donor Miata, your local junk yard to start picking parts on thier own, and finally a local machine shop where they can get a quote on building a comperable engine for them. Oh, and then have them call up a local mechanic and see how much assembling the whole thing will cost. Don't budge.

As is why mines off the market. Eventually they'll either come around, or they will continue driving less then supercar performance cars.

Its funny though- These cars offer supercar performance with the maintenance just a touch over a commuter car.

A car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It may be worth more to the owner, but that's the reality of it.

Thanks Jason. I think I will do that.... especially since I am taking it on a 4000 mile road trip starting this weekend and would hate to NOT have the car for the trip ;-)

Plus, when I get back it will be cold here and the car will be parked until next driving season.... no hurry to sell.

Price is back up to $27,500 as of today.

Met Vic for the first time and went for a ride (and drive-thanks Vic!) today. Well sorted car with no major issues apparent. I have owned several fast cars and I honestly was impressed, deceptively quick! Now where is that piggy bank???

Thanks for taking the time to chat and see the car. Nice to have someone appreciate it. Find that piggy bank and give me call!

It is warming up in Calgary. Car will be on the road for May 1, and I want the temptation to keep driving/tweaking it GONE. Price is now $21K.

This is a much better sorted car than most conversions. PLUS it really is unique:
- FIRST ever conversion done outside of Monster Motorsports
- Conversion done by Les Marsh of MiddTenn Miata
- Written up in Miata Magazine and Norman Garrett's Mazda Miata Performance Handbook.
- Driven and autographed by Takao Kijimi - the program director for the Miata

Since Les did the conversion I have extensively reworked the car, and it has had two different V8's under the hood since he built it. Very low total mileage. Very reliable... worthy of long road trips and many more smiles!

Drove the car again last week. Not sure I want to sell it anymore. If someone gave me want I want though... How does one decide what a treasure like this is worth?

Better sorted than most
Fairly unique... lots of firsts with this car
-first home built
-first Megasquirt v8 miata
-first signed/driven by Kijimi

I think I am back to $27.5K. At least until the end of driving season in Calgary!

Thanks for the airtime folks!

Default Realistic pricing

I am dismayed to see some good cars go for so little both here and on other forums. Sign of the times I guess.

I do want someone to enjoy my car. Mine is parked with its cover on in the middle of driving season, as I am enjoying taking my grandson and his mom out for rides in the BMW M3 convertible instead.

Someone make me a reasonable offer and increase the world's GDH (Gross Domestic Happiness )

Default Car is for sale

I purchased Vic's car last fall & put a couple thousand miles on it last fall.
It is a ball to drive , but changes require it be sold.
Mileage now 51000ish. No other mechanical changes to above info.
Still registered in Alberta but car is stored in Saskatoon Sask.

I'll take $17500 firm Canadian ( that's about 16,100 USD )

I dont get alerted to watched threads here or PM's on this site so best to email or call.
